Insurance & Fees

Transparent information about the cost of care, because you deserve to know what to expect.

Understanding Insurance vs. Self-Pay

Navigating health insurance for therapy can feel confusing. Here's a simple breakdown of how it works in my practice.

Individual Therapy — Insurance Accepted

I am currently in-network with the following insurance plans for individual therapy services:

  • Aetna
  • Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of CT
  • UnitedHealthcare / UHC
  • ConnectiCare
  • Optum

If you have one of these plans, your individual therapy sessions may be covered, subject to your plan's deductible, copay, or coinsurance. Coverage varies by plan — I encourage you to call the member services number on the back of your insurance card to verify your specific benefits before our first session.

Individual therapy session fee: $150

Couples Therapy — Self-Pay Only

Couples therapy is offered on a self-pay basis at $200 per one-hour session.

Why isn't couples therapy covered by insurance?

Most health insurance plans do not cover couples or marriage therapy unless the sessions are structured around treating a diagnosed mental health condition in one partner. Rather than require a diagnosis to access care, I offer postpartum couples therapy outside of insurance — giving us the freedom to focus fully on your relationship without the constraints of insurance requirements.

Couples therapy session fee: $200

What is a Deductible?

If you are using insurance, you may have a deductible — an amount you pay out of pocket before your insurance begins covering costs. Until your deductible is met, you will be responsible for the session fee at the contracted insurance rate (which is typically lower than the full rate). Once your deductible is met, you will pay only your copay or coinsurance per session.

If you are unsure whether your deductible has been met, call member services on the back of your insurance card and ask.

Payment Methods

I accept the following payment methods:

  • Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover
  • Health Savings Account (HSA)

Payment is collected at the time of service.
