Hi I'm Carrina
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensed in Connecticut. I received my initial and advanced perinatal mental health training from Postpartum Support International. In my practice, I specialize in perinatal mental health, but my path here wasn't just professional. It was deeply personal.
I'm a mother of two, and when my daughter spent time in the NICU and struggled with medical challenges during her first year of life, I found myself in a place I wasn't prepared for. Not because support didn't exist, but because between being a new mom, navigating my daughter's healthcare, and adjusting to an entirely new version of my life, I honestly did not feel like I had enough energy left at the end of the day to do something for myself. It's those seasons, the ones that quietly unravel you, that led me to dedicate my private practice to sitting with women in theirs.
My Approach
I don't believe in pretending that motherhood, grief, or life transitions are anything other than hard. What I do believe is that with the right support, you can learn to carry it without being continuously overwhelmed by it.
I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as a foundation, which means I help you build real, practical skills for regulating emotions, tolerating difficult moments, and keeping the weight of life from quietly piling up. My goal isn't to fix you. It's to help you find your footing again.
